Sebastian finds out that Moriarty is in a hospital somewhere, alive; but he’s not sure it’s the Jim he used to know.

 Wow. This is brilliant. And really really sad.

“Boss.” Sebastian had never been so relieved to see Jim. But there was something… off, about him, something wrong. He seemed… empty. This wasn’t the Jim he knew.

He looked up at Sebastian as he came into the room. No recognition flared. No brilliance shown behind those dark eyes. No madness made him smile. No. This was all wrong.

Sebastian reached for him without realizing what he was doing. His hated the twitch in his fingers. If Jim didn’t recognize him…

“Do I know you?”

Sebastian slumped.

“Do you work for me? Are you my agent?”

It was worse. He thought he was Richard Brook. Sebastian wanted to rage, scream… “Yeah,” he found himself saying. “Yeah, Rich. I’m your agent. Sebastian.”

He smiled, and the innocence behind it shattered Sebastian’s heart. “Bet I call you Sebby.”

Sebastian laughed, a choked sound. “You’ve called me worse, Boss.”

Jim laughed happily. “I don’t believe that.”

This isn’t Jim. ”Sorry I bothered you, Rich. You need your rest. i’ll see you tomorrow, alright?”

“Bye, Sebby.”

Sebastian couldn’t leave fast enough.
